THE STORY OF AMNET

We started with six people and the benefit of history. We created a company that delights our customers. This is the story of our enterprise.

When we started out, we brainstormed to decide what kind of company we wanted to create. We studied excellent companies. We analyzed the business environment at the time.

When Amnet was founded in 2000, outsourcing to India had been going on for a generation. That provided lessons about what worked and what didn't. And it gave us ideas about how to do things better.

Outsourcing and offshoring were familiar concepts to Western businesses. Researchers had figured out what companies wanted in an outsourcing relationship.

The communications infrastructure had been built between Western countries and India. And state and local governments understood that companies like Amnet contributed to overall prosperity. They were eager to support us.

But there were some clouds on the horizon. The first generation of outsourcing was based on providing the services of India's highly educated, English-speaking talent pool to deliver services at rock-bottom prices. That couldn't continue.

Being the lowest cost provider is almost always a losing strategy because that advantage is easy to copy. By 2000, Indian companies were seeing lower cost price competition from China and the Philippines.

At the same time, there were more and more companies competing for the pool of talented, hardworking people. We knew that if we were going to find, recruit and retain the people we needed to delight our customers, we would need to make Amnet an employer of choice.

We also had the benefit of seeing how companies in India and the West handled rapid growth. The Dot-Com Bubble had burst. Companies that had been on the cover of business magazines, praised for their hyper-fast growth, were gone overnight. When we dug into the history of those companies and other companies that grew rapidly we learned an important lesson. When business grows rapidly, the biggest challenge is to grow the pool of committed and qualified people.

That's why we decided to pursue a strategy of controlled growth. We want to grow, but only as fast as we can continue to recruit, train and retain the people we need to deliver service that delights you.

We're a mature but growing company now. We have more than 1200 people working at Amnet in our three locations today. We've proven that we can deliver quality services that delight our customers. We would love to delight you.
